In November, half of Mallorca heads to the biggest autumn market, “Dijous Bo,” in Inca. Not only does the market get quite crowded, but so do the roads leading to Inca. That’s why many visitors now opt for the train.
The third Thursday of November, the city of Inca comes alive again after the peak summer season. Dijous Bo is the so-called “good Thursday.” Throughout the day, various stalls, artists, and shows stretch along ten kilometers in the city center. Tradition has it that the conquering king Jaume I first arrived in the city on a Thursday.
The largest fall market in Mallorca is hard to define, as it has a bit of everything. A mix of fair, exhibition, popular festival, and traditional market draws thousands of tourists and locals each year to the island’s third-largest city.
More than 2,000 vendors and exhibitors sell their crafts, souvenirs, clothing, sunglasses, household items, and live animals amidst music, dancing, and sales shows. The variety is enhanced by equestrian shows, the medieval market, and the tractor exhibition. However, the main focus is also on gastronomy.
Local products like serrano ham, sobrasada, olive oils, and wines from the region are big sellers. More about the Dijous Bo can be found on the official page in Spanish.
