Nits a la fresca and Festes d'Estiu in Mallorca

By Verena Gemmel, updated on

Starry sky, pleasant temperatures, the romantic song of crickets: who wants to sleep on nights like these? The islanders definitely don’t! That’s why, from the end of June until September, they organize numerous Festes d’Estiu, or summer festivals.

Many towns even create their own brochures for their festivals (often also under the title “Nights in the Open Air”). These programs can be found at the respective town halls and tourist offices.

The two most important places for the Summer Festivities in the metropolis of Palma are Parc de la Mar, by the harbor, and Plaça Major. Outdoors, they offer concerts, cinema, folklore, theater, performances, and much more, and almost always for free!
