Tips for Market Visitors
Pay attention when selecting some very cheap products at the weekly markets. Especially with souvenirs and textiles, look at them closely! It can happen that they don’t originate from Mallorca but are instead produced in China at low cost.
Easy access to markets in Mallorca’s major cities. With a rental car, you can reach the city center from any direction, where the markets are located. On-site, there is usually free parking available or parking is possible on side streets.
Currently, Mallorca has an excellent bus network that also connects the different tourist areas. For the most popular markets, such as those in Sineu and Palma, in addition to the regular public transportation service, there are tourist buses available that run several times a day between the markets and the hotels.
However, this convenience also has the downside that from 11:00 onward, large crowds of tourists can be expected. So here’s a tip from us: Enjoy the tranquility before the crowd in the early morning.
Good bargaining is possible especially right before the farmers close their stalls, particularly with food products. About half an hour before packing up, sellers make a significant effort to sell as much as possible. Being persistent pays off to snag a real bargain.
